We ask that you study the contents of this employee handbook carefully. In addition to setting out our rules and regulations, it also contains a great deal of helpful information. You will also have been issued with a Code of Conduct to which you should adhere. Agincare works with the sector skills council’s ‘Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England’ informing staff how they should be providing safe and compassionatecare of a high standard, and have the confidence to challenge others who are not. The Code will also tell the public and people who use health and care services exactly what they should expect from Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England. Additionally, qualified nurses employed by Agincare must follow the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct. Agincare has also produced an internal
code of Practice expected to be followed by all employees; this is detailed at the end of this Handbook.
You will have received a contract of employment detailing terms and conditions relating to your own particular role. Agincare is responsible for delivering major contracts for many large public sector organisations. We also deliver care services to a large and growing number of self-funding or ‘private’ service users.
Agincare offers a wide range of services which are tailored to individual needs and are committed to supporting people in their own homes from low level support services such as shopping and cleaning, through to 24 hour live-in care for people with high levels of personal care needs and residential care & nursing Homes. The range of services includes:
- Domiciliary (Home) Care
- Live-in Care (both short and long term Home Care)
- Wakeful or sleep-in night care
- Respite sitting
- Home Cuisine (meals delivered to the service user’s door)

All of these services are complimentary to each other, or they can be used separately depending on the needs of the individual. Whether you are employed to carry out one of these roles or employed in one of the office/head office support functions, your contribution is important to us and the continued success of the company.
Agincare operates a 24-hour service, 365 days per year. An office Out of Hours service is available to deal with emergencies outside of normal office hours. All general enquiries should be limited to normal office hours. You will be provided with the emergency contact details for out of hours emergency enquiries and support by your manager
