Course Description: 

The Safeguarding Children Workbook has been designed to provide information on action that needs to be taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from any maltreatment. The workbook will cover the importance of partnership working between agencies, key legislation and terminology, professional duties and responsibilities, and is developed for professionals who may come in contact or provide support to children as well as families. Upon completing this workbook, you will learn: 

  1. what is meant by the term ‘safeguarding’
  2. how to make use of national guidance, legislation and your local policies and procedures
  3. to recognise signs of potential abuse
  4. the importance of being child focussed
  5. what to do if you are concerned about a child’s safety
  6. how to respond to a disclosure and keep accurate records
